11/23/25 – Looking really nice after a few months in the ground. It should get more sun when the other tress drop their leaves soon. It only gets a few hours of sun currently. I will have to do some trimming this spring to give it more light.
8/16/25 – Planted in the backyard along the fence with the neighbors, it should provide a nice screen in a few of years. I replaced the Butterfly Bush that was very old and was 20′ tall. I removed several huge trashcans of that Aloe, it was a massive patch that was taking up some great space that CA Natives belong in.
So much more space with the Aloe trimmed back and the Butterfly bush gone. This whole section is CA Natives now. I think I’ve got room for 1 more plant in this mix, I’m thinking of planting the Channel Islands Bush Poppy.
