Ray Hartman

9/21/25 – 15 months in the ground now and it’s 52″ tall. I have not watered it very much in the last month or two, it’s looking like it’s ready for the rainy season. I’ve tied the tree to the fence post using some wire attached to a hook. I’ll need to setup a proper stake at some point as it starts to get top heavy.

7/27/25 – Ray Hartman starting to get some height to it. I”m going to stop trimming it for awhile to let it fill out a bit. The Pozo Blue just had it’s first summertime trim, I think I’ll take some more off the top.

5/1/25 – Ray Hartman is getting swallowed up by the Pozo Blue sage! It’s hard to see but the Ray Hartman is about 4′ tall now and only in it’s 2nd year .

3/13/25 – Need to get a better picture and also the measurements. I also need a proper stake for this thing as it’s going to get top heavy soon.

12/30/24 – 44″ tall. It’s put on about 10″ in the last 6 months. I’m using some wire to keep it from leaning into the very low winter sun.

Planted against south facing fence. 6/2/24. Pruned it to encourage tree form, 34″ tall.
