6/1/25 – Flowers started to bloom last week. This flower stalk is at least 7 feet long.

5/26/25 – I’ve removed 90% of the aging Echium and the White Sage is taking off right now. I’m also adding in a California Bush sunflower to go along with the rest of the CA natives including ‘Purple Haze’ Aster, ‘Yankee Point’ Ceanothus, ‘Saint Catherine’s Lace’ Giant Buckwheat, ‘Pozo Blue’ Sage and the ‘Baby Bear’ Manzanita. I’m also going to rip the privet out and replace it with a ‘Snow Flurry’ Ceanothus.

Started to flower this week. I had to tie the stalk to keep it from breaking since it’s grown so tall so fast.

4/27/25 – White Sage is now over 4′ tall, I had to tie it up to the Echium since it was leaning pretty hard towards the sun. I’m thinking it won’t stretch too much more but I’ve never grown this before.

3/1/25 – planted a few months back.

Planted 11/24/24 underneath an aging Echium that will need to be replaced

Echium is amazing in it’s prime, but it’s short lived and starting to look rough. The new white sage is planted just at the base of this echium, you can hardly tell it’s a new plant.
