7/10/25 – I have a Big Sur planted in the ground that started it’s life in this pot, so when I planted it into the ground I bought a replacement for that pot and this is it. These manzanitas have a great sprawling form and they are reported to do well in containers for long periods.

Big Sur house side – 1 year in the ground, Paired with Massachusetts Kinnikinnick

The two plants are very similar in color so it’s hard to really see the two different plants in these photos.

2/15/25 – Big Sur manzanita with it’s pink flowers. This manzanita has great form and grows fairly quick once it gets settled in. Highly recommended variety that seems to also do well in pots.

Manzanita leafgall aphid making a winter home on my Big Sur Manzanita. They are on many of my manzanitas actually but I think it’s cool since it’s a native plant doing what it does best.

9/4/24: Happy in it’s new home. Paired with Massachusetts Kinnikinnick

Planted 7/14/24 – onto the top of the berm in the front yard. It should look amazing in a few years as it fills out.

Planted in a 20+ gallon pot. Apparently this one does well in containers. It’s the first manzanita that I bought; now I have 16 of them! Did I mention I love manzanitas!
