5/9/26 – Looks to be about 7′ x 7′ , it’s about 22 months old. I stopped watering it several months ago. I’m hoping for some more flowers next year as it starts to fill out. I should probably make sure to prune this hard next year after it flowers.

3/12/26 – Looking like peak flower. This one does not flower as well as the “Conchita” that is out front in full sun. It might be the afternoon shade that keeps the flowers at bay.

3/1/26 – 20 months in the ground and roughly 6′ x 6′

2/21/26 – Just starting to flower this year.

10/3/25 – 14 months in the ground and it’s looking good. I stopped watering this summer but I’m sure it’s still getting some water from nearby plants.

5/15/25 – Some yellowing on the older interior leaves but the top is a healthy deep green and it’s almost 6′ tall now. I’m going to attempt to stop watering as I think it’s almost established now.

4/15/25 – This Concha is still flowering a bit, but I am simply amazed at how fast it grew, it’s less than a year old.

3/1/25 – Starting to get near the end of it’s flowering cycle; it’s already starting to put on the new growth for next years flowers.

2/25/25 – This was planted 8 months ago and absolutely exploded in size and color in it’s first year. I can’t imagine what it will look like next year. I’m going to have to cut way back on the water this year.

2/16/25 – Grew much faster than I thought it would

2/10/25 – Flowers looking good for a first year plant.

2/3/25 – Here are a couple bugs on my Concha Ceanothus

1/16/25

1/9/25 – This Concha plant has grown much faster than I thought it would.

1/4/25 – Concha started flowering today

12/30/24 – Flower buds starting to form

9/23/24

7/14/24

Planted about 2 feet from a south facing wall 6/1/24. Sun for most of the day, Afternoon shade for a couple of hours. I’ve only watered a couple times after soaking the hole with 20+ gallons of water before planting. No soil amendments except mycorrhiza, which I have been adding to all of my native plantings.
Sitting next to a 2 Gallon Valley Violet that I might plant in the fall.
