The newest manzanita’s to the collection, this makes 19 types in total. Purchased from Linda Vista Natives on 9/23/24. These are very nice and were timed perfectly for the fall/winter planting season. I’ll be planting one of these in the yard next week.

I thought there was glitter on the plant. I guess the water was reflecting at just the right angle so I snapped this photo.

Front Yard
10/25/24 Planted one in front yard with full sun. Amended the soil with mycorrhizae and also a few handfuls of Malibu Compost

5/18/25 – Plant has exploded in the last 7 months, it must really like the full sun

10/3/25 – 11 months in the ground. This one grew much faster than the one in the backyard. Looking forward to seeing the flowers on this one for the first time.

Back Yard
12/3/24 – Planted the second one in the backyard where it gets full sun. Paired with John Dourley and Paradise Manzanitas. Amended the soil with mycorrhizae

This plant self pruned 1/2 of the plant. I read that manzanitas self prune branches all the time due to a fungus in the air.

10/3/25 – starting to fill out nicely, but still about 1/2 the size of the one out front.
