9/14/24 – just recently started growing after sitting dormant most of the summer
1/4/25 – Had to trim back the Bush Germander today since it was causing powdery mildew issues on the Bees Bliss. This plant is about 8 months old at this point. I trimmed a bunch off to try and shape the plant and removed the damaged parts and made some room for airflow.
This one was planted a couple months before the one above and got much larger before summer
8/19/24 – Semi Dormant. Growth stopped. Big leaves died off and smaller leaves are all that’s left. Plant is looking kind of rough as it’s in full sun all day long and it’s not yet established. It might look a little better if the dead leaves were stripped off.

1/4/25 – This second plant is almost a year old now and filling in nicely. This plant did not have the powdery mildew but I still trimmed it back some to shape the plant and help with airflow.
1/4/25 – two Bee’s Bliss plants that I’m using as ground cover on the berm in front of the house. The Lotus berthelotii (Parrot’s Beak) is also coming along much better than I thought it would. It’s been in about 1 year now and just keeps spreading.
You can also see the Ceanothus ‘Centennial’ ground cover (dark green) and also the Ceanothus ‘ Conchita’ growing at the very edge of the berm. I also planted a couple of pacific mist manzanitas on the front berm that were probably not needed given how fast everything else has grown so far.
