2/22/26 – First of the berries are starting to form, about 6 weeks after the flowers appeared.

2/11/26 – McMinn is exploding with flowers! it’s also starting to stretch for the light and getting some character. This is just over 2 years in the ground now and seems to love this spot. None of the other plants that were planted at the time made it, this is the sole survivor.

Pinkish flowers fade to white fairly quickly.

1/11/25 – Howard McMinn starting to get in on the flower action.

11/16/25 – Howard is starting to stretch out with the rainstorm that we got this week.

9/13/25 – Handles the heat like a champ. This is the hottest and driest part of the yard, in full sun all day long and the McMinn does not miss a beat. This is a wonderful shrub that can handle some summertime water if need be. I’ve been letting some of the plants around it die back since they require more water than the Manzanita and I would like to naturalize this next year.

5/2/25 – Getting close to 3′ tall at ~18 months in the ground now.

3/31/25 – It’s putting on a nice little growth spurt after the flowering.

3/2/25 – Flowering nicely in it’s 2nd year. Hummingbird was working the flowers the other day, I think he likes all the new flowers.

2/14/25 – starting to flower nicely

2/4/24 – looking like it’s off to a good start, even has some flowers starting!

4/26/24 – Hulking Out!

Planted 12/27/2023 with Woolly Blue Curls and Centennial Ceanothus

12/27/23 – Made a clone while planting the Howard McMinn

7/8/24 – Clone is off and running

10/1/25 – My first ever Manzanita clone is now potted into a 5 Gallon container and growing nicely. No idea what I will do with this but it’s fun to grow them.
