3\/18\/26 – I wanted to show a close up of the leaves, this one is very happy right now! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3\/13\/26 – 8 months in the pot and looking very happy, I think I’ve finally figured out a good fertilizer mix. I’m using bottled fish emulsion with kelp every couple of months in the winter and top dressed the pots with a healthy dose of feather meal, which is essentially all nitrogen. I might top dress with osmocote for the summer to get some other nutrients in there. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

11\/26\/25 – Looking good after just a few months. It’s branching nicely since the caterpillars went to town on it just after I put it into the pot. I have rocks at the base to keep the squirrels from digging in the pot. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7\/9\/25 – I purchased this Canyon Sparkles<\/a> manzanita from Linda Vista Natives. This one is supposed to do well in pots, which is rare, so I had to add it to my collection of container grown manzanitas. I had a large pot with a Bougainvillea in it that I ripped out and will be throwing away. My taste in plants has changed dramatically since I’ve fallen in love with CA Natives! Looking forward to seeing how this does over the years. I added about 4-5 cups of glacial rock dust and a whole lot of rice hulls. Also added some Mycorrhizae to the mix. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
