4\/25\/26 – This has only been in the ground 8 months and it has absolutely exploded, it’s the fastest Ceanothus I’ve grown or seen. It must be very happy where it’s at. I’m looking forward to seeing the flowers next year with all the new growth! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The butterfly bush came back quickly, but the rest of the natives are coming in nice. There lot’s of sage and a Louis Edmunds manzanita hiding on there too underneath the Dark Star Ceanothus that’s now finally peaking over the fence. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2\/14\/26 – A few small flowers started showing up and the plant seems to be growing very well. It’s been in the ground for 6 months now. The butterfly bush behind it refuses to die and appreciated the haircut.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

12\/21\/25 – Dark green and glossy leaves, no flowers yet.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

11\/23\/25 – Looking really nice after a few months in the ground. It should get more sun when the other tress drop their leaves soon. It only gets a few hours of sun currently. I will have to do some trimming this spring to give it more light. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

8\/16\/25 – Planted in the backyard along the fence with the neighbors, it should provide a nice screen in a few of years. I replaced the Butterfly Bush that was very old and was 20′ tall. I removed several huge trashcans of that Aloe, it was a massive patch that was taking up some great space that CA Natives belong in. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So much more space with the Aloe trimmed back and the Butterfly bush gone. This whole section is CA Natives now. I think I’ve got room for 1 more plant in this mix, I’m thinking of planting the Channel Islands Bush Poppy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
