Intel’s Atom C2000 chips are bricking products \u2013 and it’s not just Cisco hit<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Synology NAS (Network Attached Storage) stopped working last night and it would not power back up. I did some google searches and found a simple 100 ohm resistor on the motherboard would bring it back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had to break out the solder iron and ohm meter, took about an hour but the fix worked!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was a DS415+ that has served me well for 10 years now. This thread<\/a> helped me revive the device that had failed to boot up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not the best solder job but there are no bridged traces. I considered trying to clean up the solder a bit but after testing everything looked good so I just left it as is.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
