3\/5\/26 – These things are very vigorous growers and keep spreading out towards the sun. The big and glossy dark green leaves are something else, especially in the summer!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warning: California Asters will spread like crazy if conditions are right, it’s growing right into the Yankee Point Ceanothus, but I think that can keep it in check!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

11\/26\/25 – The Yankee Point Ceanothus is thriving here at the edge of the Elm tree. The (2) plants are probably 15′ across at this point and spreading more everyday. I managed to get rid of all the Ivy but little bit keep popping up here and there. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

9\/14\/25 – Yankee Point Ceanothus is extremely happy where it’s at and starting to spread out in all directions. It contrasts nicely with the Pozo Blue and White Sage. It’s so much nicer than that English Ivy that I replaced. The Echium has been removed to make way for the Sages and Buckwheats! I also removed the Privet that is considered highly invasive and has horrible smelling flowers that kind of burn your nose, much like Jasmine or citrus blossoms. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

6\/22\/25 – Yankee Point Ceanothus being ‘dog pruned’ so that it stays nice and flat. Also in the shot is some early blooming Symphyotrichum (Aster) chilense ‘Purple Haze’.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5\/7\/25 – These 2 plants are about 6′ each and are starting to grow together to form one solid hedge. I also have a pozo blue sage that’s starting to tale off and also a white sage that’s grown to about 5′ in a single season. The rich green and glossy leaves of the ceanothus contrast nicely with the silver and white from the other plants.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

12\/31\/24 – These two plants replace a huge Ivy patch. These new plants are perfect for dogs<\/strong> since they have very thick branches and can take being trampled.<\/strong> They should form a solid hedge, spreading about 15-20 feet wide and 2-3 feet tall.<\/strong> The plant tends to mound if not given room to stretch it’s legs. I’ve been using rocks to keep some of the taller branches low to the ground<\/strong> and it seems to be working well<\/strong>. Planted in Jan 2024 from 3 gallon pots purchased from Home Depot.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2\/19\/24 – Planted these sometime in Jan from what I can remember. I bought these at Home Depot of all places. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
