4\/10\/26 – Almost 2 years old and still doing well in the pot<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4\/2\/26 – Lots of new growth, looks like the feathermeal fertilizer has been well received. The new growth is sliver and contrasts nicely with the old leaves. Franciscan manzanita and Channel Island bush poppy in the background.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

10\/1\/25 – This thing is starting to look pretty amazing, I think it likes the soil mix! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

8\/24\/25 – Looking forward the flowers this winter, I don’t think it’s flowered yet. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7\/26\/25 – Some “Dog Vomit” fungal growth at the base of the trunk. I think this is a good thing. I pulled the mulch away from the trunk last week. Today I noticed lots of very small black ants living in the pot. I’m going to try some diatomaceous earth to see if that helps. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7\/10\/25 – I moved this pot out front, along with a few of my other manzanitas. It’s looking very happy and I’m seeing the tips are about to explode with a bunch of new growth soon. I want to plant this at some point down the road but I’m also having fun playing with soil mixes and growing some of these in larger pots.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5\/6\/25 – Plant looks much happier in the large container. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3\/31\/25 – Transplanted into the largest pot I have. I amended the soil with about 5 cups of glacial rock dust and a whole bunch of rice hulls. I also added Mycorrhizae to the Foxfarm soil and topped it off with some river rock to keep the critters out. The shape of the pot allows for it to be easily removed when it’s time to plant in the ground. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purchased around April 2024. Not sure what I want to do with this one, but it’s very rare with less than 100 of the species in the wild. It’s native to Ben Lomand area, specifically on the Lockheed property. Purchased at Linda Visata Natives<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
