3\/18\/26 -The potted Big Sur is responding well to the fish emulsion, kelp, and feathermeal fertilizers. Leaves were showing small signs of deficiencies (spotting) but that cleared up in a few short weeks and now there is an explosion of new, lush, dark green leaves. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1\/11\/26 – Big Sur is still flowering more than any other manzanita that I have, looking really nice right now. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

12\/26\/25 – Big Sur manzanita; This is the most flowers it’s had since planting. Seems to be really enjoying this spot. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

12\/14\/25 – pink flowers with some morning dew.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

12\/5\/25 – pink flowers fading to white. Flowers are two months earlier than last year with the early rains we had.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

11\/23\/25 – Flowers arrived much earlier this year, not sure what’s up but last year I was seeing flowers in Feb. Maybe the early rains this year? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7\/10\/25 – I have a Big Sur planted in the ground that started it’s life in this pot, so when I planted it into the ground I bought a replacement for that pot and this is it. These manzanitas have a great sprawling form and they are reported to do well in containers for long periods. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two plants are very similar in color so it’s hard to really see the two different plants in these photos. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2\/15\/25 – Big Sur manzanita with it’s pink flowers. This manzanita has great form and grows fairly quick once it gets settled in. Highly recommended variety that seems to also do well in pots.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manzanita leafgall aphid making a winter home on my Big Sur Manzanita. They are on many of my manzanitas actually but I think it’s cool since it’s a native plant doing what it does best.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planted 7\/14\/24 – onto the top of the berm in the front yard. It should look amazing in a few years as it fills out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planted in a 20+ gallon pot. Apparently this one does well in containers. It’s the first manzanita that I bought; now I have 16 of them! Did I mention I love manzanitas! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
