12\/21\/25 – Dark Star has been flowering for a couple of weeks now, much earlier than previous years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first bumble bee of the year appeared today, this one also seems to be early. They are fast, so it’s hard to get a good shot.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

11\/14\/25 – Dark Star is looking amazing. This whole section is now CA Natives, except that butterfly bush. that refuses to die. I cut it to the ground and it’s growing like crazy now. I might revisit it at some point, but for now it can stay. The new puppy keeps peeing on the Coyote bush, but it’s hanging in there. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

9\/28\/25 – Dark Star is doing amazing. I cleared out some more space for more CA natives by thinning out the MASSIVE aloe patch and taking down the butterfly bush. I also pruned the Tree Mallow that was shading part of the Dark Star. The whole are looks so much better now. Its hard to see but way back in the corner, behind that bush poppy is a Ceanothus Snow Flurry, it should fill in this space nicely.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7\/6\/25 – The Dark Star should be peaking over the fence in a couple of weeks, it\u2019s really taken off in the last year!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5\/14\/25 – When I planted this I was not sure if it was a good spot but it appears to like where it’s at. I’ve been very careful not to water in the summer. When I did have to water, it was only on the coolest days. I think that it should established at this point, so I may stop watering it all together soon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dark Star 6\/15\/24<\/strong>. Some yellowing on older leaves, but nothing to be concerned about, the new growth looks lush and green.<\/strong> Only watered 2 or 3 times this year<\/strong>. I saw this same issue with dropping some of the older leaves last year while it was in it’s pot and waiting for cooler weather<\/strong> before planting.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
